WordMouth AI keeps the data it needs to run your reports, and no more. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account: your name and email address from sign-in and the workspace you belong to.
- Projects: the business names and websites you add, the questions, your settings, and the recommendations you mark done.
- Scans: the AI answers to your questions, word for word, and the businesses and sites they name. These answers are about businesses, not about you.
- Websites: public text from the pages of the sites you add, which we read to suggest questions and recommendations.
- Billing: your plan, its status, and invoices. Stripe holds the card.
- Messages: what you send us on the contact page.
How we use it
We use this data to run scans, show reports, send the weekly email, bill you, and answer you. We use answer counts from many workspaces, without business or person names, to show industry benchmarks. We do not train AI models on your data.
Cookies
We set one cookie to keep you signed in. PostHog sets one to count visits and see which parts of the app people use. The app remembers your theme choice in your browser. We use no advertising cookies.
Who else handles it
These companies process data for us, only to do the job listed.
| Company | What it does | What it gets |
|---|---|---|
| WorkOS | Sign-in and workspace membership | Your name, email address, and sign-in events |
| Stripe | Payments and invoices | Your billing details and card. WordMouth AI never sees the card number. |
| Neon | The database, in the United States (AWS us-east-2) | Your account, projects, questions, scans, and recommendations |
| DataForSEO | Asks the AI apps your questions | The question text and the market, not your name or email |
| OpenRouter and OpenAI | Suggest questions, read answers, and write recommendations | Your questions, the AI answers, and public text from the sites you add |
| Resend | Sends the weekly email and replies to messages | Your email address and the email content |
| PostHog | Counts page views and product use, and reports errors | Pages you open, buttons you click, your email address, and your browser type. No session recordings. |
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete a project, its reports and recommendations are deleted. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete its data within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep.
Your choices
- Turn off the weekly email in each project’s settings, or with the link in the email.
- Delete a project in its settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account on the contact page. We answer within 30 days.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS and is stored encrypted by our providers. Only the people who run WordMouth AI can open the database, and only to support the service.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we email account owners before the change takes effect.
